Why an indie female lead in a sci-fi fantasy?
Artists in their teens and 20s who are in high school or college are looking to create something new; they want to see new works of art that are different than the main stream superhero movie. People are getting tired of remakes. They want to see something refreshing.

Movies like Laberynth are a cult classic; everyone knows that movie. Its beautiful to look at. Everyone also knows the Hunger Games and Katniss' name. There's not a girl I don't know who doesn't wish they were Hermione Granger (or wish they had a wand and some magic spells).

How many female directors have won an Oscar? Writers? Actresses of color? This film will give those woman an opportunity to let their voices be heard through a project that they will be able to have free rain over their specific role.

Festivals encourage more female centric projects-- there are multiple festivals all around the world that look for them specifically.
