DESIGN IDEAS

Amanda Padro Time Sketch

Although this is a sci-fi fantasy, I want to film the realisticness of it. Its a simple story told through the eyes of complex characters, and I want to focus more on them rather than the use of CGI and special effects. I want the choreography to seem real; I want the skeletal men to seem like they're standing right next to you. I want the muppets of the animals to seem ridiculous, but I don't want anyone to think they are out of the ordinary. I want the library to be filmed in local libraries around the tri-state area. I find it fascinating to enjoy the odd-ball reality of a realistic world.

With the animals (7 deadly sins) I decided to go with muppets because it is an artform that doesn't get used very often anymore. It gives artists the opportunity to literally create a new character and a voiceover artist the opportunity to play around with a fun new voice. CGI, while awesome, doesn't give that sense of realism; with puppetry, the character is physically there, and there is something magical about being able to see something rather than suspending your disbelief.

Puppetry Concepts for 7 Deadly Sins (Animals)

Like Laberynth, I loved the idea of the puppetry being different: ie, one was a traditional muppet, one was two people in a suit, another was one person in a suit with people outside controlling its facial features. I would love to be able to utilize all different forms of puppetry for each animal.

The skeleton men will be full on actors in makeup and costume.
